Margaret and her team of optometrists regularly attend the Association of Optometrists programme to keep fully up to date with the latest developments in all aspects of eye care. She has also been a tutor for final year optometry and ophthalmology students from the Mater Hospital.

She and Linda Fitzpatrick provide a VDU screening service to public, private or semi-state companies eg. Microsoft, Departments of Defence and Social and Family Affairs, Mountjoy Prison, Aras an Uachtarain and Ergo. They advise on lighting level and directions, screen position and air/humidity quality. Eliminating these potential problem areas greatly reduces stress levels and complaints from VDU users.

Margaret is also specialist optometrist to patients and staff of St Brendan's Psychiatric Hospital. She and her team fully understand anyone who is nervous or apprehensive and are experts at putting all clients at their ease.

Glasses or contact lenses can be delivered to your home or work. She also provides a domiciliary service to nursing homes or individual homes.

Margaret prides herself on using the latest technology in disease detection. The retinal camera takes a photograph of the back and front of the eye and helps instantly diagnose and/or monitor conditions such as diabetes, retinal haemorrhages/clots or detachments and Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), glaucoma, cataracts etc. She will show you computerised images of your eye and print copies for your GP. Why not bring in your own USB key and we'll put your images on it, so you can show them to your doctor or study them at home. Margaret and her team use digital cameras to record the eye health and other computerised equipment to check spectacle prescription and eye muscle balance.

Similarly her computerised visual fields equipment aids in the diagnosis and monitoring of glaucoma and print outs can be sent to your GP or glaucoma specialist.

Her team are involved with every age group in the community and are proud sponsors of organisations including:

  • St Joseph's School, Stanhope Street, Dublin 7
  • Gael Schoil, Bharra, Fassaugh Road, Dublin 7
  • St Oliver Plunketts GAA Club, Navan Road, Dublin 7
  • Navan Road Musical and Dramatic Society.
