Eye examinations

Keeping up with your routine eye examination is a simple way to look after your vision and eye health. With private and HSE options, you can have your eyes checked in a way that suits your budget and eye care needs. More than just updating your prescription, we offer eye examinations to provide an in-depth look at your eye health and a complete assessment of your vision.

Your eye health

Often we take our eyesight and eye health for granted. Following a few simple practices to improve eye health can minimise your risk of experiencing vision loss or eye conditions. From minor conditions like dry eye and eyestrain to serious ones like glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, diagnosing problems early allows them to be treated more effectively. This is one of the reasons why a routine eye examination is a vital part of looking after your health.

What to expect in your eye examination?

During your eye examination, an optometrist will assess your general eye health, eyesight and look for signs of eye conditions. If you are experiencing any symptoms or have any particular concerns, we will make sure to carry out any additional tests that are necessary. To understand your case, your optometrist will ask you some questions about your medical status and history; for example, whether you know of any history of eye problems in your family and any medication you might be taking. At the end of the examination, they will explain their findings and let you know any recommendations they have for vision correction and eye health.

Enhanced eye examinations with OCT

For those looking for a more in-depth look at eye health, we offer enhanced eye examinations with OCT. If you are experiencing symptoms, are over the age of 60 or have a family history of eye conditions, it is a good idea to have a detailed check-up that goes beyond a standard eye test.

With enhanced eye examinations, we can detect eye conditions much earlier and monitor your eye health over time. This is achieved using an OCT (Ocular Coherence Tomography) scan. This technology creates a 3D image of your inner eye, allowing optometrists to diagnose conditions like glaucoma and macular degeneration much earlier.
